Wenna trained at Birmingham Polytechnic and since 1977 has been a studio potter. She has exhibited throughout Britain and currently sells work in several galleries in Scotland including Just Art, the Fisher Gallery and the Morningside Gallery.
Wenna uses stoneware clay to make her unique pieces, which are hand-built, and aim to emphasise surface texture. Oxides and slips as well as a small amount of glaze add colour, and the work is generally fired to a temperature of 1230C.
All Wenna’s pieces are ‘one-offs’ inspired by an observation of figures, their gestures and interaction, as well as the surrounding landscape.
